About Artist
Sara Sahores
Sara Sahores (b. 1998) is a visual artist and photographer from Buenos Aires, Argentina, who now works and resides in London. She studied Architecture at an undergraduate level in Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (2017-2022) and Photography at masters level at the Royal College of Art (2023-2024). Her practice spans a variety of techniques and formats (from digital to analog processes, including C-type printing, rayograms, risography, polaroids and screen-printing). For her, photography is a way to possess what she sees, driven by an obsession similar to that of an archivist, but rooted in pleasure as the only criteria. She faces the contradictions of being a woman who identifies with the male/dominant lexicons of photography, such as “shooting” (film) and “taking” (photos), where the subject is reduced to a collectible object, and understands the relative position of “privilege” and access that she has as a female photographer working within certain themes. From mundane moments to very specific objects, Sara will try to capture anything that sparks her personal punctuum, her desire to possess and collect.
