Leander was born on June 15, 1984, in Austria. Once an avid enthusiast of extreme sports like Wingsuit flying and Base jumping in his wild youth, Leander now finds solace in more serene activities like ski touring and freediving in relaxed surroundings. He and his family of three were living in an old converted truck and driving around the world for the past seven years. Started in Europe, crossed Central and South East Asia, looped around Australia and the North American Continent and circumnavigated the globe back to Europe, covering 4 continents and 35 countries. On their global expedition, his little son Lennox, an Aquarius in his zodiac sign with an apparently natural connection to water, opened a gateway to the captivating underwater world and ignited a shared passion for the ocean. As a photographer and storyteller, Leander believes in the power of imagery to not only capture moments of joy and entertainment, but also serve to shed light on important issues and raise awareness in the world. Expanding his focus and skills, he dedicates himself to supporting environmental causes through his craft and tries to inspire other people for a different lifestyle. Despite his adventurous spirit, he is seeking for a quiet place to live a self responsible life in harmony with nature and his family.
