Pigments of Stones and Clouds
In the Icelandic highlands, where volcanic earth meets sky, sunset spills in dark pinks and burnt orange. For a moment, stone and cloud share a similar colour palette—painted by light, shaped by time.

About Artist
Isabell Kiener-Govender
I’m a German amateur photographer working in development cooperation, which has taken me across several African countries over the years. I’ve always held a deep passion for nature conservation—and along the way developed a passion for capturing the beauty of wild places through photography. Mainly self-taught, I’ve learned through online courses, a handful of workshops, and countless hours out in the field. My love for hiking naturally led me to combine photography with early-morning or afternoon adventures, chasing the light of sunrise and the quiet magic of sunset. For me, few moments compare to watching the world wake from a mountaintop, camera in hand.
