About Artist

Jan-Tore Oevrevik

Jan-Tore Oevrevik, known as JT, is a Norwegian-American photographer whose interest in photography began in 1998 in a home darkroom, developed during a local photography course. That early experience working with film sparked a deeper exploration of visual storytelling, which has since grown into an internationally recognized body of work. He divides his time between Europe and the United States, focusing especially on architectural spaces, urban environments, and natural landscapes. His images reflect a strong sense of structure, light, and composition—often highlighting overlooked details or unique perspectives. Oevrevik has received more than 200 international awards, including Silver and Bronze medals from the Epson International Pano Awards, a Bronze from the Fine Art Photography Awards, and top honors from the reFocus Awards, including “Discovery of the Year.” In 2024, he was named “Photographer of the Year” in the Architecture category by the 1839 Awards. His work has also earned “Category Winner of the Year” titles from both the London and Global Photography Awards, and he was recognized as “Best Artist Fall 2022” by Photoserge Academy. His photographs have been exhibited in venues such as Valid World Hall Gallery in Barcelona, Galerie Gora in Montreal, the Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago, and the Glasgow Gallery of Photography. His work has appeared in publications including Dodho, Digital Photographer Magazine, NOIR International Photo Magazine, UCP Magazine, and Digital Camera World. In 2024, he was featured by Professional Photographers of America (PPA) in their December issue with the article Emerald Skies: Chasing the Aurora Borealis. He has also been interviewed by OrlandoVoyager and other outlets highlighting creative professionals. Oevrevik continues to pursue projects that allow him to explore visual form and atmosphere, while building connections with a growing international audience.
