Bio
Pierre Burnaugh a Chicago native, has always been fascinated and passionate about photography from an early age. Largely self-taught, Pierre also studied Photography at Chicago's Columbia College's highly acclaimed program. Additionally, he considers the fortune of two intensive workshops during the early nineties as contributing to his aesthetic direction and considerations in working with the nude. One with Ralph Gibson at his Soho studio and another with Lucien Clerque. “Learning from those artists impressed my thinking about my own approach, expression and what I’m trying to convey in my work.” Although he has worked professionally in photojournalism, he currently works mainly with the art nude and portraiture.
