Bio
I discovered photography at an early age, spending my youth experimenting with many different cameras. My journey took a more defined path when I began writing reviews and interviews for music magazines. Knowing my passion for photography, my editor gave me an assignment that included shooting a live show—and I was instantly hooked. From that moment, photography became more than just a hobby. It allowed me to merge two great loves: live music and visual storytelling. Since then, I’ve built my credibility photographing iconic bands such as Parkway Drive, Megadeth, Cradle of Filth, Rose Tattoo, Hunters & Collectors, and The Living End, to name a few. I’ve also worked directly with artists like Rob Thomas, The Used and The Goo Goo Dolls as a dedicated social media photographer. My work has been published in several books, including 2019 – A Year Before Lockdown, a project created to support the music industry during the devastating impact of COVID. Being part of that initiative remains a point of pride. My fascination with low light environments and the night sky naturally led me to astrophotography. Under the mentorship of internationally awarded photographer Ari Rex, I developed my skills further and now assist as part of Ari’s Star Crew, teaching Milky Way workshops across the Canberra region. There’s something truly magical about transforming an ordinary subject by placing it under the stars. In 2023, I was honoured to receive international recognition at the IPA Photography Awards. Today, I run my own part-time business, Hold Still Photography. Every time I pick up a camera, I’m driven by a love of learning, creating, and capturing moments—whether on stage, under the stars, or somewhere in between.
