Bio

Born in Paris in 323 ppm, French and Swedish by citizenship, Mats Carduner is a landscape photographer particularly drawn to the Arctic and boreal regions, conducting numerous photographic reportages in polar areas. His work focuses on raw simplicity, straightforward compositions, textures, and light emerging behind elements. Engaged in environmental issues, his photographs also bear witness to the intensity and irreversibility of the Anthropocene’s devastating effects—the human presence in once-pristine nature. He devotes part of his efforts to the climate cause through partnering and charitable engagement (Solar Impulse, Surfrider, Tara Ocean Foundation, Polar Witnesses) and, as a former Tech entrepreneur, impact investing (greentech funds, business angels clubs). He believes that science, art and culture can win over obscurantism.
