Bio

I am an American artist based in Westhampton, NY, whose photographic work explores themes of memory, belonging, and personal connection to place. Earlier in my practice, I used infrared film photography to capture architecture, landscapes and cityscapes, then added expressive color through hand-painting. Since 2017, I’ve been documenting independent mom-and-pop storefronts in New York City, London, and small-town America. I explore neighborhoods street by street, scouting and photographing over time to reflect each area’s architectural character. In 2017 and 2019, I traveled all eight states of Route 66, creating a series that examines the cultural significance of America’s most iconic highway. The project focuses on signage, roadside Americana, and the sensation of being on the move. My work has been the subject of solo exhibitions including Elizabeth J. Holmes at Conant Hall in Princeton, NJ, and Time and Place at the Southampton Cultural Center in Southampton, NY. I have also participated in group exhibitions such as Off The Clock 2024 at APA LA, curated by George Kocis, in Los Angeles, CA; Women Seen By Women at the Mediterranean House of Photography, Galeria Valid, in Barcelona, Spain; and DNA, a United Nations traveling exhibition shown in New York City and Copenhagen, Denmark. I have received several notable awards, including First Place in Architecture–Interiors at the IPA International Awards for my St. Pancras Staircase series; First Place and Gold, in Special Street Photography at PX3, Prix de la Photographie Paris, for my Neighborhood Storefronts series; Bronze, in Architecture-Buildings, from the Tokyo International Foto Awards, in 2024, for my Hudson Yards Series series; and Third Place, in Self-Published Books, at the IPA International Awards for Route 66: An American Symbol. I am currently developing a book based on my long-term documentation of New York City’s disappearing independent storefronts.
