About Artist
Lisa Campbell
Growing up in a traditional and meager upbringing, I was taught to value practicality over dreams. Pursuing a creative passion like photography seemed like an unattainable luxury in the face of life's responsibilities. Throughout my early years, I followed the conventional path, receiving a traditional education and settling into ordinary jobs that left little room for self-expression. As much as I yearned to capture the beauty I saw in nature, horses, and cityscapes through the lens of a camera, it remained an unfulfilled passion and distant daydream. Horses were always an inherent part of my life, having been raised on a ranch surrounded by these majestic creatures. I managed to indulge my equestrian passion, but photography, unfortunately, took a back seat amidst the daily grind of adult responsible living. My equestrian dreams were thriving through sheer determination, sacrifice, and pure luck – many wonderful horses came into my life. Yet, I longed to explore what I felt was my artistic ability to capture the moments of beauty that I knew were slipping by unnoticed by most. So without any formal education I started photographing horses - mine, my friends, anybody’s horses. I gave the photos to my friends with the idea of just sharing the beauty I had captured. They started paying me! Imagine that! I have always noticed the intricate details of nature, the soulful expressions of horses, and the captivating allure of cityscapes. Photography itself began to beckon me to capture these scenes for eternity. The camera became my means of breaking free from the confines that once held me back. I embraced photography as a medium to show the world the beauty they often overlook or simply do not take the time to see. My journey continues to unfold, and with every photograph, I aim to capture the essence of the beauty that surrounds us. Art is more than presenting an image, it is about evoking emotion in the viewer.
