These Rockhopper penguins emerged from the ocean and preened at the shoreline. They then raced across the sand. One lone penguin was still preening. When it noticed that it had been left behind, it made a mad dash to catch up. I photographed this scene from an overlooking rocky cliff.

I am a retired veterinarian and life-long wildlife photographer. I have been shooting Nikon cameras for well over 50 years. I am not a professional photographer just a serious hobbyist.
