Cut flowers so often feel limited, life cut short to be stuck in a vase. I wanted to set them free, allow them to dance in the sunlight once more. This image was created using a reversed free-lens (5O mm handheld backwards against the camera body) to create a movement and light leaks in the image.

About Artist

Laura Merz

From a young age, I wanted to save the rainforest, conserve the wild, and protect the planet. As I an adult, I have lived around the world falling more in love with nature, and gradually fell into a career in photography. It became clear that this could be my medium to invoke change, to remind people of what we so desperately need to protect and I regularly donate my work and profits to conservation initiatives.
